Resolve to Find Love in the New Year

Are you ready to for love to enter your life? Have you tried to build relationships only to have them fail time after time after time? There’s an old saying in the business world that applies equally to any other endeavor, including love and relationships – if you keep ending up in the wrong place, try using a different map. If you’re ready to make this the year that you find true, lasting love, you can start by redefining your search and creating a road map that will lead you directly to the true love you’ve been looking for all your life.

A Road Map to Love

When you give someone directions to get to your home, you generally give them a list of landmarks that will help them identify the right road. There are landmarks on the road to true love as well, but many people are looking for the wrong landmarks. They think they’re getting close when they find physical attraction or common interests, but they miss the most obvious and necessary parts of a real, long-lasting relationship. Whether you’re trying to improve an existing relationship or build a new one, these four keys are essential to making sure that you’re on the right road to your destination.

Trust

Trust is the major cornerstone of every relationship in your life. If you want to attract trust, you have to give trust – and you have to be trustworthy. You can’t just be trustworthy in the big things, though. It’s not enough to ask the object of your affection to simply believe that you will be there when you’re needed. You must practice being there.

Honesty

The quickest way to destroy relationships is with dishonesty. Dishonesty destroys trust and wipes away relationships more quickly than almost any other trait. Start by being honest with yourself. Once you recognize truth, it’s far easier to reflect that truth to others, and that reflection is what others will see and be attracted by.

Faith

Your ability to believe is a measure of your ability to love. Faith – in yourself, in your God and in the world – are a vital part of building a relationship based on true love. If you cannot believe in something greater than yourself, it will be almost impossible to trust in love and in your partner.

Respect

The Golden Rule – to treat others as you would have them treat you – is the definition of respect. You cannot expect someone to love you if you do not offer them respect and treat them as you want them to treat you. When you show your respect in actions and words, you provide the seeds that help love grow.

It’s a new year – a time when many people look forward to rebuilding their lives in a fresh, attractive way. Make this the year that you resolve to attract love into your life – and finally find the lasting love you’ve been looking for all your life.
